Background

Dr. Bhrany devotes his practice to aesthetic facial rejuvenation and reconstruction. He is double board-certified in Facial Plastic Surgery and Otolaryngology (Ear Nose and Throat Surgery). Originally from Michigan, he earned his bachelors degree in biomedical engineering and doctorate in medicine from Boston University before completing his residency in Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Washington (UW). He was then awarded fellowships in Head and Neck Surgery and Facial Plastic Surgery at the University of Auckland in New Zealand, and UW, respectively. During those two years of additional sub-specialty training, Dr. Bhrany developed skills for cosmetic facial plastic surgery, reconstructing all aspects of the head and neck, as well as head and neck cancer surgery and microsurgical reconstruction.

He has been a faculty member of the UW since 2008 and trains other surgeons in Facial Plastic Surgery and in Head and Neck Surgery, both at the UW School of Medicine and as an invited speaker around the country. In addition to his taking care of patients at Seattle Face & Skin, he cares for patients as at UW Medicine, the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, and Seattle Children’s Hospital. He and the SF&S team are dedicated to meeting your needs, take pride in doing so, and look forward to meeting you.

Patient Care Philosophy

My aim is to partner with my patients to provide the best possible care for aesthetic facial rejuvenation and reconstruction, and head and neck surgery. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to make a difference in my patients’ lives and even more privileged to have your trust to allow me to participate in your care. From the moment you contact our office, we focus on your needs to ensure you fully understand the possibilities, limitations, and opportunities available to produce the best outcome for you.

I went in for a consultation with Dr. Bhrany for a cosmetic nose job. He spent a lot of time with me answering my questions and he really paid attention to what I wanted. He showed me possible results on photoshop and he made sure I knew all about the surgery and what to expect. I had several different consultations and chose Dr. Bhrany because he spent the most time with me and made me feel the most comfortable. The surgery came and went and Dr. Bhrany did an amazing job. My nose is exactly what I want it to be and he always made himself available whenever I had questions. Dr. Bhrany does a great job and I highly recommend him!

Philanthropies

Dr. Bhrany travels to Cambodia annually to serve on a team that provides care to those who suffer from facial deformities caused by congenital anomalies, cancer, or trauma—including domestic violence and war—and to also serve as an educational exchange with Cambodian medical students, residents, and surgeons.

The group is led by Drs. Craig Murakami, Sam Most, Kathy Sie, and Dr. Bhrany who have the fortune of being joined by other surgeons, anesthesiologists, pediatricians, nurses, surgical technicians, and speech pathologists. The surgical missions have been ongoing since 2006 to provide otolaryngology and facial reconstructive surgery services and to assist in the training of Cambodian medical students and residents. The focus of these trips is to provide care such as microtia repair, cleft lip and palate repair, complex facial reconstruction, and head and neck cancer surgery that would not otherwise be available to the Cambodian people. Over the years, the group has developed a relationship with Dr. Theavy Mok who is based at the Khmer Soviet Friendship Hospital in Phnom Penh, where the services are provided. Dr. Mok is a faculty member at both medical schools in Cambodia. The Cambodian medical students and residents participate in the surgical cases and our delegation provides lectures to the medical students and residents to promote their education in otolaryngology and facial plastic surgery.

The trip is important because after the reign of the Khmer Rouge and Cambodian genocide from 1975-1979, only twenty-nine physicians survived to serve the entire country. Cambodia was not only left with a generational void of physicians to take care of their people but also to train future physicians. Our goal is to help bridge this gap by providing health care for those who suffer from facial deformities caused by congenital anomalies, cancer, or trauma and to educate Cambodian medical students, residents and surgeons in order to sustain the care we provide for the short period of time we are there. In addition to providing lectures to the Cambodian medical students and residents that focus on facial reconstructive surgery, the Cambodian surgeons and trainees operate with us, with the goal of them gaining the skill to perform these procedures independently as we continue to return on a yearly basis.

But the scope of impact is not limited to the people of Cambodia. One would argue that just as much of an impact, if not more, is made on the individuals who serve on the trip. The trip is a reminder of why all of us chose medicine as a profession, that each of us can make a difference, and that a life serving others is a life worth living.
